Our Mission
While building Astral (formerly Schoolhouse), we found that many of the homeschool parents wanted to apply to the PEP scholarship in Florida, or were thinking about applying, but were unsure. We heard many of their struggles such as:
- StepUp is difficult to navigate. It’s not a small task for a busy homeschooler to read through a ~40 page parent handbook and a ~30 page purchasing navigator.
- There are too many confusing and dizzying acronyms: FTC/FTC-PEP/FES-EO - what does it all mean and how do I just get money for homeschooling my kid?
So we built Freedom to Homeschool as a completely free-to-use portal meant to serve homeschoolers who wanted to apply or learn more about PEP. To guide them, to give all the information they need in one place, and to answer their most burning questions!
So far - we are proud to say it’s been a smash success… we’ve helped hundreds of parents with the process!
